Possible new Cop 26 dates: 1-12 November 2021

The United Kingdom has proposed to further delay the 26th UN World Climate Conference. Cop 26, initially scheduled to take place in Glasgow from 9 to 19 November this year, has already been postponed for the first time due to coronavirus outbreaks. The United Nations Framework Convention which organises the Cops, together with the host countries - has indicated that it has received the proposed programme for the period from 1 to 12 November 2021.

Delaying the event is understandable, but steps back in climate action cannot be allowed. We have shown extraordinary determination to tackle the pandemic and we need a similar approach to prevent a climate catastrophe. What we need to do is to revive the economy and rebuild our societies in a more sustainable, equitable, resilient and healthy way. Governments must not invest in yesterday's economy but build tomorrow's economy.

While governments find and enact their solutions, we consumers must do our part today to help our wonderful home planet to recover. We can adopt ecological lifestyles, it's just a matter of installing new everyday healthy habits.
