We are on a mission. We do our best to select products that reduce the use of plastic, mainly by choosing different materials that can substitute plastic for good and that are also reusable, recyclable and/or compostable: they have been used for centuries without causing any damage, so let's keep going!
People have an incredible power: choice. Whatever we buy is our choice and determine what will be produced and sold. Whenever you buy something think about its impact on environment and people and animal lives; the impact of all of our products is in their description. Ethical consumerism leads to a cleaner world.
How do we choose our products?
👉 They must be reusable.
👉 They must be recyclable or compostable.
👉 They help you save money.
👉 They help the environment while producing and/or disposing.
👉 They substitute single use plastic and other polluting materials.
👉 All our products are:
👉 Many of our products are also:
||Bamboo are shrubby, evergreen, very vigorous plants, with remarkable characteristics that makes it one of the best substitutes to plastic and the products made with it are strong and compostable. There are so many reasons why bamboo is a smart choice, learn more >|
||Silicone is a rubber-like nontoxic polymer, reusable and insulating, also used in medical and food objects. We do not hide the fact that producing it is not good for the environment, but considering reuse and proper disposal it is all in all convenient, because it is really very much reusable.|
||Bees today are an endangered species. You can help our planet by choosing beeswax food wrap. It is long-lasting, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, reusable and compostable. Beeswax products are made of organic cotton infused with natural beeswax, they last for at least a year and when they do finally wear out, you can turn them into rags, then finally compost them.|
||In agricultural processes, wheat straw is treated as waste, but it can be also used to create great materials similar to plastic for food storage, safe, strong, reusable and compostable.|
||Cork is a natural bark, harvested from the regenerative bark of cork oak trees allowing them to live up to 200 years or more, which stripped of their bark absorb and store larger amounts of CO2 and release more O2, that means a healthier planet. Cork forests help support biodiversity among forests habitats and provides a source of income for over 100,000 people.|
||Cotton and wool are already very popular materials in industry, but few people know that they can replace plastic. In reality, they were used before plastics had the upper hand, it is only a matter of rediscovering their countless uses, even in new ways. What makes them so special is their ease of retrieval, which can be more or less sustainable, their softness, versatility and the fact that they are recyclable in many ways and even compostable.|
||Metal products are easy to use, clean and sterilize, and they are strong and durable. We select only items that are safe for health and do not release heavy metals. Metal extraction and processing is not good for the environment, but considering reuse and proper disposal it is all in all convenient. They can be easily recycled.|
Hemp has been used for at least ten thousand years in the textile industry, on ships to make sails and ropes, and also for food, medicines, personal care products, textiles, paper, and even an alternative to plastic, construction materials. Hemp textiles have always been valued for its strength, durability and longevity, also holding its shape, and the more it is used, the softer it gets. It is a fast-growing crop, producing 250% more fiber than cotton and 600% more than flax using the same amount of land in warm tropical zones or temperate climates, never exhausting the soil and it is excellent for absorbing air and soil pollution.
We thank all our suppliers for their work and commitment. Most of them are located in Asia, but their environmental effort is what made us choose them. By purchasing their products you are contributing to the preservation of the Planet and the high quality and development of sustainable industry and local economy.
Our hemp products supplier is different. It is an Italian association that supplies us with handmade hemp products rooted in their local community. Founded in 2015 with funding for youth entrepreneurship, it contributes concretely to the reintroduction of hemp cultivation in Italy, promoting research, investment and regulation of the industry, with the aim of producing and processing hemp grown in southern Italy and beyond. A project that developed from the desire to give back identity to a special plant, traditionally available in the Italian territory: hemp, always valued for its strength, durability and longevity and used in many industries.
They are committed to rebuild an ecosystem made of people, work and experiences that recognize the real value of a natural resource so useful and sustainable, starting by providing concrete and reliable information to meet many types of needs with functional, simple and innovative solutions. They have opened their own farm where they cultivate this evolution; among hectares of hemp, they also organize training courses and personalized consulting services for the different fields of application of the resource. By purchasing their products you are contributing to the preservation of the Planet and the high quality of Made in Italy, for the development of eco-sustainable fashion and local economy in the Apulia, Sicily, Molise and Marche regions.
The hemp they use is grown without the use of pesticides and with a moderate amount of water, extremely less than, for example, the water used in cotton crops. The colors of the garments are environmentally friendly, in other words heavy metals are not used when fixing the color. This characteristic, together with the absence of pesticides and chemical herbicides in the crops of the fiber plants used, really makes a difference to the health of the skin and, of course, the environment. By choosing these natural fabric articles, you opt for non-polluting materials, a real alternative to the usual synthetic fabric bags made from petroleum synthesis. Natural raw materials are hereby used, which at the end of use can be returned back to the ecological cycle, such as hemp and cotton fibers, as well as tanned leather without polluting chemicals.
In our blog we talk twice a week about sustainability, with news and tips to go greener, but also about climate change and how it affects ecosystems and our lives.
We believe that in this age of information the correct knowledge can unlock people's awareness, and give hope and practical help for the change we must all make for our future and the future of our children.
We use Shopify as our website host. We chose it not only because it is the market leader, but also because it allocates at least $5 million a year to defend the environment through its Sustainability Fund.
Shopify has undertaken several initiatives to grow sustainably, including becoming a zero-impact company. It is following the best industry standards by purchasing credits to offset its current and future carbon footprint and investing in capturing carbon directly from the atmosphere. They have chosen renewable energy to provide heating and electricity to their facilities, creating zero impact platform and locations and sustainable offices. Learn more about their commitment 👉
We offset our carbon emissions by using Shopify’s Offset app. It lets us offset the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the shipments that we deliver. The app uses industry models to determine the amount of CO2 that is released into the atmosphere for each shipment using weight, distance and type of transportation, and then charges us an amount per shipment to offset those emissions. The funds are used to purchase carbon credits, which offset our emissions through deforestation protection projects.
We use Treeclick to plant even more trees when ordering from our suppliers. Treeclick is a free Google Chrome shopping extension that receives advertising fees for bringing customers without affecting privacy and uses it for planting trees in India.
Each time we search the web, we also plant trees. We use Ecosia as search engine to plant trees while searching. It uses paid ads to earn money that it uses to plant a tree every 45 searches all over the world without affecting privacy. More than 90 million trees have been planted so far.
As an environmental charity, they are on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees! One dollar, one tree. They are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees! Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
Started in 2014, they have more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, they now work with awesome reforestation partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help us get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity. In 2018, they were able to get more trees in the ground than ever before: 1.3 million!
They pool the donations for each project and send the funds to their reforestation partners. They vet their partners to ensure that they maintain a tree survival rate of 80-90%.
Depending on the project, their partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the ground. Planting typically happens in the rainy season when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival.
Once all the trees are in the ground, they send out a report highlighting the impact of your trees, that include plenty of pictures of the newly planted section of forest, the tree species planted, expected survival rates, community engagement, and ecological benefits.
One Tree Planted is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
When checking out, you can choose to donate 10% of your order to The Ocean Cleanup North Pacific Foundation.
The purpose of The Ocean Cleanup North Pacific Foundation is to preserve and protect the natural ocean environment for the benefit of the public. This includes promoting and supporting the efficient and environmentally-friendly extraction of waste from oceans, seas and other waste areas. It also includes promoting, supporting and performing the environmentally-friendly recycling of such waste.
The main activity to be carried out by the Foundation is the assembly of ocean systems for deployment in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, by one of The Ocean Cleanup’s affiliates. The assembly of the first cleanup system is taking place in Alameda, California.
The extracted plastic from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch will be recycled and sold, to finance (part of) the cleanup expansion to the other four ocean gyres, as well as the continued operation of cleanup systems in the North Pacific. The North Pacific Foundation may assist in the marketing and sales of the plastic.
The Foundation will also be responsible for raising funds in the US; firstly, for rolling out The Ocean Cleanup initiative in the North Pacific, but also to support other The Ocean Cleanup initiatives around the world. The Foundation will also set-up and manage events in the US, such as media events related to the cleanup system progress.

We lose trees at a rate of 50 soccer fields per minute as our food systems destroy our ecosystems. Most of this degradation occurs in the developing tropics of Africa, Latin America, and South and Southeast Asia where hundreds of millions of chronically-hungry, smallholder farming families use destructive and short-sighted agricultural practices that further degrade their communities trees, soil, water and biodiversity, making them even more likely to migrate and more vulnerable to the climate changes that lie ahead.
The Forest Garden Program is a simple, replicable and scalable approach with proven success. By planting specific types of fast-growing trees, fruit trees, hardwoods and food crops systematically over a four-year period, families can positively change their lives forever. Forest Gardens consist of thousands of trees that provide families with sustainable food sources, livestock feed, products to sell, fuel wood and a 400% increase in their annual income in four years.
The challenge that Trees For The Future faces is how to train hundreds of millions of farmers to plant Forest Gardens. Most smallholder farmers world-wide are low-literate, highly dispersed, chronically hungry, and living in extreme poverty. They own, on average, less than five acres, and are dependent upon tree products from local forests for their survival.
Planting trees provides families with more than just food. It provides income, empowerment, unity, leadership, education and even saves lives. When we teach people to value themselves and their environment, they see amazing improvements in their standard of living.
Your donation has a direct impact on the earth and lives of the people who need it most. By helping them plant trees, you give families the ability to transition from unsustainable farming techniques to a Forest Garden system. Your donation not only sustains and empowers them, but also changes their lives forever.
We also partner with Treedom, a certified B-corporation, to ensure reforestation and sustainable economy in 14 countries in the world. We donate based on our random campaigns, join our newsletter to stay updated.
All trees help the environment: they absorb CO2, they produce oxygen, they contribute to biodiversity and much more. Treedom's trees also help the farmers involved in their projects all over the world. All trees are planted directly by local farmers and bring environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities.
Every single tree is planted, photographed, geolocated and is visible online, to show your commitment to everyone in a transparent way. It will have a name and a diary with progress, and it will benefit everybody as it grows.
Tree after tree, we can make the world a greener place together, creating value for the entire planet. Be part of the change and contribute practically to help the environment.
All this is only possible with your own help.
