🌿 How can I dispose of my items correctly?

We do our best to select products that reduce the use of plastic, mainly through choosing different materials that can substitute plastic for good and that are also reusable, such as bamboo, silicone, beeswax, wheat straw and cotton.

Bamboo is fully compostable in your garden. Bamboo toothbrush are, too. Try to reuse them for other tasks first, like cleaning your bathroom, computer, cooking implements, bike chains and more, or make them garden markers by planting them vertically, you can also write plant names on them. Before planting them, please remove the bristles with pliers, they are not compostable and should be recycled as plastic. If you just throw a bamboo toothbrush into your garden, it might take as long as 5-10 years to fully break down; if buried horizontally in the soil, it will take around 3 years; using a home composter should take around 4-6 months depending on composition, but you can speed this up by breaking the toothbrush down into small pieces with a hammer or saw, while an industrial composter should break a toothbrush down in a few weeks as they are much hotter and more active than any home composter.

Cotton is also compostable. Beside our products made of this material, some of our bamboo items come with cotton wraps that you can compost as usual.

Silicone is more difficult to recycle. Check your local garbage policy, also some companies will do it for free in the US. You can also recraft it using moulds if you have the skills. It shouldn't be disposed with plastic.

Beeswax products are made of organic cotton infused with natural beeswax, they last for at least a year if you treat them well and give them a regular refresh (search the web for one of the many DIY pages about this). When they do finally wear out, you can turn them into rags, then finally compost them.

Wheat straw, cork, wool and hemp items are also fully compostable, just plant them in your garden.

Metal products are strong and durable and can be easily recycled.

Our suppliers may still use plastic and/or cardboard wrappings to protect products during shipping, that can usually be recycled as normal plastic and cardboard.

🛍 Why was my credit card denied?

We outsource our payment processing. This company communicates with your credit card company or bank and if, for instance, you incorrectly enter your credit card number or your billing address, it may decline your transaction. Other common reasons why your card could be denied are two fraud filters, AVS and CVV:

• Address Verification System (AVS) compares the numeric part of your billing address and zip code or postal code to the information on file with the credit card issuer. This helps reduce a significant amount of fraud, because unauthorized users often don't have the correct billing address. Check your billing address, it must match the one associated with your card.
• Card Verification Value (CVV) is a 3-digit or 4-digit number on the back of your credit card. Credit card companies prohibit the storage of the CVV code, so asking for the CVV is a way of ensuring that a customer has the card physically in their possession. Credit card information stolen from a merchant database is also less useable, because it does not contain CVV information. Check twice the code on the back of your card.

If you didn't receive a confirmation, your credit card was not charged. Be sure to check the details you have entered and correct any errors, then try again.

If it still doesn't work, call your bank or credit card company and ask why. Some banks have very strict anti-fraud system and require you to personally authorize foreign payments verbally every time.
